Ingredients
- 1 kg spare ribs, cut into individual pieces
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 tbsp rice vinegar
- 4 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece ginger, sliced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, ketchup, Shaoxing wine, and cornstarch to make the sauce.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the garlic, ginger, and green onions, and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
- Add the spare ribs to the pan and season with salt and pepper. Cook until the ribs are browned on all sides.
- Pour the sauce over the spare ribs and add the diced bell peppers. Stir to coat the ribs evenly with the sauce.
- Cover the pan and simmer for 45-50 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the spare ribs are tender and the sauce has thickened.
- Once cooked, transfer the spare ribs to a serving dish and garnish with additional chopped green onions, if desired.
