Tangsuyuk (탕수육) Bibimbap

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pork tenderloin, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup carrot, julienned
  • 1 cup cucumber, julienned
  • 4 cups cooked white rice
  • 4 tbsp gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 4 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 green onions, chopped
  • 4 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the pork slices with salt, pepper, and cornstarch until well coated.
  2. Dip the coated pork slices into the beaten eggs, ensuring they are fully coated.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat and fry the pork slices until golden and crispy. Set aside.
  4. In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, and minced garlic. Cook over medium heat until the sauce thickens. Set aside.
  5. In a serving bowl, place a portion of cooked white rice and arrange the julienned carrots and cucumbers on top.
  6. Place a portion of the crispy pork slices on the rice and drizzle with the prepared tangsuyuk sauce.
  7. Add a spoonful of gochujang on the side for extra spice, if desired.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
  9. Repeat for the remaining servings.
  10. Mix the bibimbap thoroughly before eating to combine all the flavors.
