Tangsuyuk (탕수육) Burrito Bowl is a fusion dish that combines the flavors of Korean Chinese cuisine with the convenience of a burrito bowl. This recipe features crispy pork in a sweet and sour sauce, served with rice and fresh vegetables.
Ingredients
- 1 pound pork, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup pineapple chunks
- 1 bell pepper, cut into chunks
- 1 onion, cut into chunks
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 4 cups cooked rice
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup sliced cucumber
Instructions
- Coat the pork slices in cornstarch, then dip in beaten eggs.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the pork until crispy and golden brown. Set aside.
- In a separate pan, combine sugar, vinegar, ketchup, soy sauce, and water to make the sweet and sour sauce. Bring to a boil, then add pineapple, bell pepper, and onion. Cook until the vegetables are tender.
- Assemble the burrito bowls by dividing the rice, crispy pork, sweet and sour sauce, lettuce, and cucumber among 4 bowls.
