Ingredients
- 1 cup toor dal (split pigeon peas)
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp tamarind paste
- 1 tsp jaggery
- 2-3 cups water
- Salt to taste
- Coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Wash the toor dal and pressure cook with tomatoes, onion, green chilies, turmeric powder, and water for 3-4 whistles.
- Once the pressure releases, open the cooker and mash the dal mixture well.
- Add tamarind paste, jaggery, and salt. Mix well and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
