Tangy Mango Pachadi
Tangy Mango Pachadi is a traditional South Indian dish that combines the sweetness of ripe mangoes with the tanginess of yogurt, making it a perfect accompaniment to a spicy meal.
Ingredients
- 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and diced
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Few curry leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1/4 cup grated coconut
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk the yogurt until smooth and set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Once they start to splutter, add cumin seeds, green chilies, curry leaves, and grated ginger. Sauté for a minute.
- Add diced mangoes, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the mangoes are soft.
- Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool for a few minutes.
- Once cooled, add the mango mixture to the whisked yogurt and mix well.
- Garnish with grated coconut and serve.
