Pani Puri, also known as Golgappa or Puchka, is a popular street food in India. This recipe puts a unique twist on the traditional Pani Puri by using a yogurt-based tangy tambuli as the filling, making it a refreshing and flavorful snack.

Tangy Tambuli Pani Puri (Yogurt-based Pani Puri)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped mint leaves
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small cucumber, finely chopped
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 20-25 puris (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the yogurt and water until smooth.
  2. Add the chopped coriander leaves, mint leaves, onion, cucumber, green chili, chaat masala, roasted cumin powder, and salt to the yogurt mixture. Mix well to combine.
  3. Refrigerate the yogurt mixture for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  4. Just before serving, gently crack the top of each puri and fill them with the prepared yogurt mixture.
  5. Serve immediately and enjoy the tangy and refreshing yogurt-based Pani Puri!
