Ingredients
- 1 cup rice
- 2 cups yogurt
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 2-3 green chilies, chopped
- 1 inch ginger, grated
- 1/4 cup grated coconut
- 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
Instructions
- Wash the rice and cook it in a pot with 2 cups of water until it is soft and fluffy. Let it cool.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk the yogurt until smooth. Add the cooked rice to the yogurt and mix well.
- Heat a small pan and add the mustard seeds. When they start to splutter, add the cumin seeds, green chilies, and grated ginger. Sauté for a minute.
- Pour this tempering over the yogurt-rice mixture. Add salt, grated coconut, and chopped coriander leaves. Mix everything together.
- Adjust the consistency by adding water if needed. The tambuli rice should be creamy and slightly tangy.
- Chill the Tangy Tambuli Rice for a few hours before serving. Enjoy it as a refreshing and flavorful meal!
