Tangy Tambuli (Yogurt-based Curry)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups plain yogurt
  • 1/2 cup grated coconut
  • 2-3 green chilies
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 5-6 curry leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon asafoetida
  • 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the yogurt, grated coconut, green chilies, and cumin seeds. Blend until smooth.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Then add curry leaves, turmeric powder, and asafoetida.
  3. Pour the blended mixture into the pan and add salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes on low heat.
  4. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve with steamed rice or roti.
