Tangy Tzatziki Chicken Skewers (Ξινόλαχτα κοτόπουλο σουβλάκια με τζατζίκι)

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs chicken breast, cut into chunks
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon, juiced and zested
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 large cucumber, grated and drained
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 8 wooden or metal skewers

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the Greek yogurt, garlic, lemon juice and zest, olive oil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken chunks and marinate for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  2. In another bowl, combine the grated cucumber, dill, and feta cheese to make the tzatziki sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Thread the marinated chicken chunks onto the skewers.
  4. Grill the chicken skewers for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and slightly charred.
  5. Serve the chicken skewers with the tzatziki sauce on the side.
