Ingredients
- 500g fish fillets
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 3 tomatoes, pureed
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 4-5 green chilies, slit
- 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- Salt to taste
- 3 tbsp oil
Instructions
- Marinate the fish fillets with turmeric powder and salt. Set aside for 15 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few minutes. Then, add the tomato puree and cook until the oil separates.
- Whisk the yogurt and add it to the pan, stirring continuously to avoid curdling.
- Add red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a few minutes.
- Gently add the marinated fish fillets and green chilies. Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes until the fish is tender.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice or naan.
