Taoist Tofu Dumplings (道教豆腐饺子)

Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu, drained and crumbled
  • 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 package of dumpling wrappers
  • Water for sealing the dumplings

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the crumbled tofu, chopped cabbage, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, and black pepper.
  2. Place a small spoonful of the tofu mixture in the center of a dumpling wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, then fold the wrapper in half and press to seal.
  3. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and tofu mixture.
  4. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully add the dumplings and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
  5. Remove the dumplings with a slotted spoon and serve hot.
