Tara Canyon Trout En Papillote
Tara Canyon Trout en Papillote is a traditional Montenegrin dish that showcases the delicate flavors of fresh trout, combined with aromatic herbs and vegetables, all cooked to perfection in a parchment paper parcel.
Ingredients
- 4 whole trout, cleaned and gutted
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 4 sprigs of fresh thyme
- 4 sprigs of fresh rosemary
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 8 cherry tomatoes, halved
- 4 tablespoons of olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Place each trout on a large piece of parchment paper.
- Season the inside and outside of the trout with salt and pepper.
- Stuff each trout with lemon slices, thyme, rosemary, red onion, garlic, and cherry tomatoes.
- Drizzle each trout with olive oil.
- Wrap the parchment paper around the trout to create a sealed parcel.
- Place the parcels on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes.
- Carefully open the parcels and serve the trout hot.
