Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 pounds fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
- 1/2 cup strawberry jam
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- In a food processor, pulse together the flour, butter, sugar, and salt until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the egg yolk and continue to pulse until the dough comes together.
- Press the dough into a tart pan, then refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Line the tart shell with parchment paper and fill with pie weights or dried beans. Bake for 15 minutes, then remove the weights and bake for an additional 10 minutes until golden brown. Let cool.
- In a saucepan, heat the strawberry jam and lemon juice until smooth. Arrange the strawberry halves on the cooled tart shell, then brush with the warm jam mixture.
- Chill the tart in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Before serving, dust the tart with powdered sugar.
