Ingredients
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 pre-made pie crust
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sugar, and cook until the onions are caramelized, about 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Press the pie crust into a tart pan. Prick the bottom with a fork and bake for 10 minutes.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and heavy cream. Season with salt and pepper.
- Spoon the caramelized onions onto the pre-baked crust. Pour the egg mixture over the onions.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown.
- Let the tart cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
