Ingredients
- 1 cup rice
- 1/2 cup split yellow moong dal
- 4 cups water
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 inch ginger, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons ghee
- 10-12 cashew nuts
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Wash the rice and moong dal together and set aside.
- In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
- Add the rice and moong dal to the boiling water and cook until soft and mushy.
- In a separate pan, heat ghee and add cumin seeds, black pepper, ginger, and cashew nuts. Sauté until the cashews are golden brown.
- Add the sautéed mixture to the cooked rice and dal. Mix well and add salt to taste.
- Simmer for a few minutes until the flavors are well combined.
