Tempe Goreng Kering (crispy Fried Tempeh)

Ingredients

  • 250g tempeh, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup vegetable oil for frying
  • 3 shallots, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red chili, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Instructions

  1. In a pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  2. Fry the tempeh slices in batches until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  3. In a separate pan, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium heat.
  4. Sauté the shallots, garlic, and red chili until fragrant.
  5. Add the fried tempeh slices, salt, and sugar. Stir well to coat the tempeh with the seasoning.
  6. Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes until the tempeh is crispy and the seasoning is well distributed.
  7. Remove from heat and serve the Tempe Goreng Kering immediately.
