Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs (700g) lamb shoulder, cut into chunks
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1/4 cup (60ml) olive oil
- 1/2 cup (120ml) water
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onions and garlic, and cook until softened.
- Add the lamb chunks to the pot and brown on all sides.
- Stir in the tomatoes, bell peppers, water, and seasonings. Cover and simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper, if needed.
- Serve the Kuzu Güveç hot, accompanied by crusty bread or over a bed of rice.
