Tender Mutton Kebabs, also known as Kakori Kebab, are a popular dish from the Awadhi cuisine of India. These kebabs are known for their delicate texture and rich flavors, making them a favorite among meat lovers.
Ingredients
- 500g tender mutton, minced
- 2 tbsp raw papaya paste
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp ground mace
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh coriander leaves
- 1/4 cup chopped mint leaves
- 2 tbsp gram flour (besan)
- Salt to taste
- Skewers for grilling
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the minced mutton, raw papaya paste, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, nutmeg, mace, black pepper, coriander leaves, mint leaves, gram flour, and salt. Let it marinate for 2 hours.
- After marination, divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them onto skewers to form kebabs.
- Heat a grill or a stovetop griddle and cook the kebabs for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are evenly browned and cooked through.
- Serve the tender mutton kebabs hot with mint chutney and sliced onions.
