Ingredients
- 1 whole fresh fish (such as sea bass or snapper), cleaned and scaled
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, julienned
- 2 stalks green onions, chopped
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon Shaoxing wine (Chinese cooking wine)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
- 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Place the fish on a heatproof dish that fits inside a steamer.
- Spread the garlic, ginger, and green onions on top of the fish.
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, Shaoxing wine, sugar, and white pepper. Pour this sauce over the fish.
- Steam the fish over high heat for 15-20 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
