Teriyaki Deer Jerky

Ingredients

  • 1 pound deer meat, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  2. Add the thinly sliced deer meat to the marinade, making sure it is fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  3. Preheat the dehydrator to 160°F (70°C).
  4. Remove the marinated deer meat from the refrigerator and place the slices on the dehydrator trays, leaving space between each piece.
  5. Dehydrate the meat for 4-6 hours, or until it reaches your desired level of dryness and chewiness.
  6. Once done, let the jerky cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
