Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs bone-in chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice wine
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, sliced
  • 4-5 Thai basil leaves
  • 2-3 red chilies, sliced
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a wok or large skillet, heat the sesame oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the garlic, ginger, and red chilies. Stir-fry until fragrant.
  3. Add the chicken pieces and cook until they start to brown.
  4. Pour in the soy sauce, rice wine, and sugar. Stir to combine.
  5. Add the water and Thai basil leaves. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Uncover and continue to simmer until the sauce thickens.
  7. Serve hot with steamed rice.
