三杯魷魚 (Three-Cup Squid Stir-Fry) is a classic Taiwanese dish known for its rich and savory flavors. This dish gets its name from the traditional use of one cup each of soy sauce, rice wine, and sesame oil.
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh squid, cleaned and sliced into rings
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves
- 1/2 cup sliced ginger
- 1/4 cup garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup rice wine
- 1/4 cup sesame oil
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, rice wine, and sesame oil. Set aside.
- Heat the cooking oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add the ginger and garlic, and stir-fry until fragrant.
- Add the squid to the wok and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until it turns opaque.
- Pour the soy sauce mixture over the squid and stir to combine. Add the sugar and continue to cook until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Add the green onions and basil leaves, and stir-fry for another minute.
- Transfer the Three-Cup Squid Stir-Fry to a serving dish and serve hot with steamed rice.
