Ingredients

  • 4 slices of beef round steak
  • 4 slices of bacon
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 4 dill pickles, sliced lengthwise
  • 4 tablespoons mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cups beef broth

Instructions

  1. Pound the beef slices to tenderize them.
  2. Season each beef slice with salt, pepper, and mustard.
  3. Place a slice of bacon, some chopped onion, and a dill pickle on each beef slice.
  4. Roll up the beef slices and secure them with toothpicks.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot and brown the rouladen on all sides.
  6. Add the beef broth, cover, and simmer for 1.5-2 hours until the beef is tender.
