  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
  • 1 cup grated carrots
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/2 cup crumbled paneer (Indian cottage cheese)
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and water to make a smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together the cabbage, carrots, onions, cilantro, paneer, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, black pepper, and salt to make the filling.
  3. Divide the dough into small balls and roll each ball into a thin circle on a floured surface.
  4. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each circle, then fold and pleat the edges to seal the momos.
  5. Steam the momos in a steamer for 15-20 minutes until the dough is cooked and the filling is hot.
  6. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan and lightly fry the steamed momos for a crispy texture (optional).
