Tibsi Firfir (spicy Lamb Kebabs)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lamb, cubed
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp berbere spice mix
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 pita bread or injera, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the cubed lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, berbere spice mix, paprika, cumin, olive oil, and salt. Mix well to coat the lamb evenly. Marinate for at least 1 hour.
  2. Thread the marinated lamb onto skewers and grill over medium heat for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the lamb is cooked to your desired doneness.
  3. Remove the lamb from the skewers and chop into small pieces.
  4. Heat a pan over medium heat and add the chopped lamb. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the lamb is slightly crispy.
  5. Serve the spicy lamb kebabs with pita bread or injera.
