Tibsi (spiced Lamb Chops)

Ingredients

  • 8 lamb chops
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Season the lamb chops with salt, black pepper, cumin, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear the lamb chops for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.
  4. Remove the lamb chops from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, sauté the chopped onion and garlic until softened.
  6. Add water to the skillet and stir to deglaze the pan.
  7. Return the lamb chops to the skillet and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the lamb reaches your desired level of doneness.
  8. Serve the spiced lamb chops hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
