Tilapia Fish (ngege)
Tilapia Fish (Ngege) is a popular dish in Ugandan cuisine, known for its delicious flavor and simplicity.
Ingredients
- 4 tilapia fish fillets
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Season the tilapia fillets with salt and black pepper.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onion and cook until translucent.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and curry powder, and cook for 5 minutes.
- Place the seasoned tilapia fillets in the pan and pour in the water.
- Cover and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
