Tirokafteri Thrill
Tirokafteri is a spicy feta cheese dip that is a popular meze (appetizer) in Cypriot cuisine. This creamy and flavorful spread is perfect for serving with pita bread or as a topping for grilled meats.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups feta cheese, crumbled
- 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
- 2-3 small hot peppers, such as jalapeños or serranos, seeded and finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a food processor, combine the feta cheese, Greek yogurt, hot peppers, olive oil, lemon juice, and garlic. Blend until smooth.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, and blend again to incorporate the seasoning.
- Transfer the tirokafteri to a serving bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
