Tisreo Relleno (prawn Stuffed Mussels)

Ingredients

  • 12 large mussels, cleaned and debearded
  • 200g prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onions and green chilies until the onions are translucent.
  2. Add the prawns, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until the prawns are fully cooked.
  3. Remove the prawn mixture from the heat and let it cool slightly.
  4. Stuff each mussel with a spoonful of the prawn mixture and press gently to close the shell.
  5. Heat a pan and place the stuffed mussels in a single layer. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the mussels are fully cooked.
  6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
