Brochettes de Bœuf et Ignames, also known as Togolese Spiced Beef and Yam Skewers, are a popular street food in Togo. This flavorful dish features marinated beef and yam chunks, skewered and grilled to perfection.
Ingredients
- 1 lb beef, cut into chunks
- 2 large yams, peeled and cut into chunks
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, grated
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Wooden skewers, soaked in water
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the beef, onion, garlic, ginger, paprika, cayenne pepper, vegetable oil, salt, and pepper. Marinate for at least 1 hour.
- Thread the marinated beef and yam chunks onto the soaked wooden skewers.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Grill the skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the beef is cooked to your desired doneness and the yams are tender.
- Serve the brochettes hot and enjoy!
