Ingredients

  • 6 Abyei apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 package (14.1 ounces) refrigerated pie crusts
  • 2 tablespoons butter, cut into small pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, salt, and flour. Toss until the apples are evenly coated.
  3. Place one pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish. Pour the apple mixture into the crust and dot with butter.
  4. Top with the second pie crust, seal the edges, and cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  6. Allow the pie to cool before serving.
