Tourtière Egg Rolls (肉馅饼春卷)

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground pork, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the pork is no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Stir in the cinnamon, cloves, allspice, salt, and pepper. Cook and stir for another 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool.
  3. Place a spoonful of the pork mixture onto the center of each egg roll wrapper. Fold the sides of the wrapper over the filling, then roll up tightly, sealing the edges with water.
  4. In a large, deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Fry the egg rolls in batches until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per batch. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve the tourtière egg rolls hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
