Toyuq Dolmasi (grilled Stuffed Quail)

Ingredients

  • 4 quails
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh herbs (parsley, dill, mint)
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the rice, chopped walnuts, chopped onion, butter, salt, black pepper, cumin, cinnamon, and fresh herbs. Mix well.
  2. Stuff each quail with the rice mixture, then brush the outside of the quails with olive oil.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the quails for 10-12 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  4. Remove the quails from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
