Traditional Chicken Curry, also known as Nadan Kozhi Curry, is a classic dish from the Kerala Cuisine. This aromatic and flavorful curry is made with tender chicken pieces cooked in a rich and spicy coconut-based gravy.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Curry leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Heat coconut oil in a pan and sauté the onions until golden brown.
  2. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté until the raw smell disappears.
  3. Add tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and coriander powder. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.
  4. Add the chicken pieces, salt, and curry leaves. Cook until the chicken is browned.
  5. Pour in the coconut milk and simmer until the chicken is cooked through.
  6. Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with curry leaves.
