Ingredients
- 3 cups rye flour
- 1 cup lukewarm water
- 2 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in the lukewarm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add the rye flour and salt to the yeast mixture and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 10 minutes, then place it back in the bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Let it rise for 1 hour.

- Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on a baking sheet. Let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake the bread for 40-45 minutes, or until it sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
