Transylvanian Sausage Stew (Kolbász Pörkölt)
Kolbász Pörkölt is a traditional dish from Transylvanian Saxon cuisine, known for its rich flavors and hearty ingredients.
Ingredients
- 1 lb kolbász sausage, sliced
- 2 onions, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 red bell peppers, diced
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tbsp sweet paprika
- 1 tsp caraway seeds
- 1 cup beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot, sauté the sliced kolbász sausage until browned.
- Add the chopped onions and minced garlic, and cook until the onions are soft.
- Stir in the diced bell peppers, chopped tomatoes, sweet paprika, and caraway seeds.
- Pour in the beef broth and season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 45 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
