Travnik Cheese Burek (Travnički Sirnica)

Ingredients

  • 500g phyllo dough
  • 250g feta cheese, crumbled
  • 250g cottage cheese
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the feta cheese, cottage cheese, eggs, sour cream, parsley, dill, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush it with melted butter. Repeat with 5 more sheets, stacking them on top of each other.
  4. Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the stacked phyllo dough sheets.
  5. Roll the phyllo dough and cheese filling into a log shape, then coil it into a spiral and place it in a greased baking dish.
  6. Brush the top with more melted butter and bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
