Ingredients

  • 10 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a Šakotis mold.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Sift in the flour and gently fold it into the egg mixture.
  4. Add the softened butter, vanilla extract, and salt, and mix until well combined.
  5. Pour a thin layer of batter into the mold and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  6. Continue adding thin layers of batter and baking until the Šakotis is golden and crispy.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool before carefully removing it from the mold.
