Ingredients

  • 300ml lukewarm water
  • 200g Swiss cheese, grated
  • 150g bacon, diced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in the lukewarm water. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. Add the flour and salt to the yeast mixture and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  6. Punch down the dough and knead in the grated Swiss cheese and diced bacon until well combined.
  7. Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  9. Let the bread cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
