Ingredients
- 2 cups cornmeal
- 1 cup okra, finely chopped
- 4 cups water
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
- Gradually add the cornmeal to the boiling water, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
- Add the okra, onion, garlic, salt, and black pepper to the pot.
- Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens and the okra is tender.
- Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
