Trufas De Gofio (gofio Truffles)
Trufas de Gofio, or Gofio Truffles, are a traditional dessert from the Canary Islands made with gofio, a roasted corn or wheat flour. These truffles are easy to make and have a unique flavor that combines the nuttiness of gofio with the sweetness of chocolate.
Ingredients
- 1 cup gofio
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup shredded coconut (optional, for coating)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the gofio and sweetened condensed milk. Mix until well combined.
- Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave or using a double boiler.
- Add the melted chocolate to the gofio mixture and stir until fully incorporated.
- Refrigerate the mixture for 10-15 minutes to firm up.
- Once the mixture is firm, roll it into small balls to form the truffles.
- If desired, roll the truffles in shredded coconut for an extra layer of flavor and texture.
- Refrigerate the truffles for at least 30 minutes before serving.
