Tumis Buncis Pedas (spicy Green Bean Stir-fry)

Ingredients

  • 300g green beans, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 shallots, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 red chilies, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon shrimp paste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the shallots, garlic, and red chilies. Stir-fry for 2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add the shrimp paste and stir-fry for another minute.
  4. Add the green beans, sugar, salt, and soy sauce. Stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until the green beans are tender-crisp.
  5. Transfer to a serving dish and serve hot.
