Ingredients
- 250g tempeh, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red chili, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
- 1 teaspoon tamarind paste
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sliced onion, and sauté until fragrant.
- Add sliced tempeh and cook until lightly browned.
- Stir in red chili, red bell pepper, soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, tamarind paste, sugar, and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in water and simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender and the sauce has thickened.
- Remove from heat and serve the Tumis Tempe Enak hot with steamed rice.
