Turkish Coffee Panna Cotta (Türk Kahvesi Panna Cotta)
Türk Kahvesi Panna Cotta, or Turkish Coffee Panna Cotta, is a delightful dessert that combines the rich flavors of Turkish coffee with the creamy texture of panna cotta. This recipe is a perfect way to end a traditional Turkish meal or to impress your guests with a unique and delicious treat.
Ingredients
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons Turkish coffee grounds
- 1 teaspoon unflavored gelatin
- 2 tablespoons cold water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream, sugar, and Turkish coffee grounds over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture almost comes to a simmer. Remove from heat and let it steep for 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, in a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water and let it soften for 5 minutes.
- After the cream mixture has steeped, strain it through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean saucepan, pressing on the coffee grounds to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the coffee grounds.
- Reheat the cream mixture over medium heat. Add the softened gelatin and stir until completely dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Divide the mixture among 4 ramekins or small serving glasses. Let them cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
- To serve, run a knife around the edge of each ramekin and invert the panna cotta onto a serving plate. Serve chilled.
