Turkish Delight Truffles (Lokum Trüf)
Lokum Trüf, also known as Turkish Delight Truffles, is a delightful and indulgent treat that combines the flavors of traditional Turkish delight with the richness of chocolate truffles. These bite-sized delights are perfect for special occasions or as a sweet treat for yourself.
Ingredients
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons rose water
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the powdered sugar, cornstarch, water, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and becomes translucent.
- Remove the mixture from the heat and stir in the rose water. Pour the mixture into a greased pan and let it cool and set for at least 3 hours.
- Once the Turkish delight has set, cut it into small squares.
- In a separate saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it just begins to boil. Remove from the heat and add the chocolate chips. Let it sit for a minute, then stir until smooth.
- Using a fork or candy dipper, dip the Turkish delight squares into the chocolate mixture, coating them completely. Place the coated squares on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Refrigerate the truffles for at least 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to set.
- Once set, roll the truffles in unsweetened cocoa powder to coat them evenly.
- Store the truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
