Ingredients

  • 500g lamb, cubed
  • 4 potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the lamb cubes and brown on all sides.
  3. Add the onions and garlic, and cook until softened.
  4. Stir in the paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Add the tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Layer the sliced potatoes over the lamb mixture.
  7. Pour in the water, cover, and simmer for 1.5 hours, or until the lamb is tender.
  8. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  9. Transfer the lamb and potato mixture to a casserole dish and bake for 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden brown.
  10. Serve hot and enjoy!
