Ingredients
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 4 cups water
- 1/2 cup rice
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine the water and rice. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the yogurt until smooth.
- Once the rice is partially cooked, add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and butter to the pot. Cook for another 5 minutes.
- Gradually add the whisked yogurt to the pot, stirring constantly to prevent curdling.
- Season with salt and black pepper, then simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
- Stir in the fresh dill and remove from heat.
- Serve the Turkmenistan Ayran Aşı hot, garnished with extra dill if desired.
