Ingredients
- 1 turtle, cleaned and cut into pieces
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 tomatoes, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt to taste
- 4 cups water
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent.
- Add the diced tomatoes, minced garlic, paprika, cayenne pepper, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Add the turtle pieces to the pot and cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Pour in the water, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 2 hours or until the turtle is tender.
- Once cooked, serve the turtle in tomato sauce hot with your choice of side dish.
