Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and 1 cup of sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the milk and vanilla.
  4. Gradually blend in the flour mixture until just combined. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
