Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup ube jam
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- In a bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, ube jam, and melted butter. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan, cover, and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the ube bread for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Let the bread cool before slicing and serving.
